Population Density in Ontario and neighboring Canadian provinces and US States

For the Ontario Ministry of Transportation in Canada (MTO), we develop a person long-distance model. This includes both long-distance travel of Ontario residents and of Ontario visitors who live elsewhere. Crucial input data are the Travel Survey of Residents of Canada (TSRC) and the International Travel Survey (ITS). This model is integrated in the Provincial Multimodal Passenger and Freight Forecasting Model Development that is under development for Ontario.

This model will create new functionalities to meet the Ministry requirements of planning, policy and infrastructure investment decisions across the province. This multi-modal modeling platform will address urban and intercity passenger travel and short and long haul multimodal freight movements.
