Beschreibung
The Seminar is one of the core lectures of the field of study “Transportation Demand Management” of the international master’s program in Transportation Systems.
In preparation for their Master's Theses and future professional work, students will learn how to carry out scientific investigations and present their results.
- The course starts with a general overview of Transportation Demand Management and an introduction to the focus topic, which alternates every year.
- Students will learn about various approaches and methods to analyze mobility challenges. Furthermore, they will learn about strategies for coping with those challenges, and their impacts. Lessons learned are important in this context: What works? What does not work and why?
- Students will carry out their own investigations on a selected focus topic. They will do an extensive literature research on the topic, such as additional methods for analyzing mobility behavior and strategies for achieving sustainable mobility and case studies where Transportation Demand Management was implemented.
- They will write a scientific paper reporting their findings by the end of the semester. Finally they will present their results and there will be discussions and debates regarding the potential impacts of Transportation Demand Management.
- Guest lectures, practical examples and/or excursions may be part of the course.
