TUM-VT at the Driving Simulator & Virtual Reality Conference 2023

Last week, our colleague Johannes Lindner presented at the Driving Simulator & Virtual Reality Conference 2023 our latest design of the Wheelchair Simulator. The novelty of the simulator is a non-static approach, resulting in realistic driving behavior and reducing simulator sickness. Mixed and Augmented Reality studies are also possible through this design, which will be implemented soon at the test intersection.
We use the simulator to test novel citizen participation methods in urban planning in the Connected Urban Twins. In the future, the simulator will also be used to study the interaction between road users and investigate the boarding processes with autonomous shuttle buses.
