Vehicle design is a multidisciplinary process and is influenced by various factors such as efficiency, cost, comfort, performance, etc. such factors could be conflicting and highly dependent on the operational use case. Additionally, the vehicle package could change significantly depending on the passenger capacity of the vehicle.

A tool is, therefore, being developed that would generate vehicle packages of different architectures and weight classes based on the mobility requirements for the vehicle - such as driving cycles, passenger capacity, vehicle range and geographical data. The vehicle package is further optimised using a multi-objective optimisation algorithm which evaluates and searches for the optimal package based on the vehicle characteristics and total cost of ownership.
