Prof. Constantinos Antoniou and doctoral researchers Cheng Lyu and Hao Wu from the Chair of Transportation Systems Engineering at TUM are collaborating with Prof. Francisco Camara Pereira , Prof. Carlos M. Lima Azevedo and doctoral researcher Danya Li from the Machine Learning for Smart Mobility Lab at DTU to develop innovative approaches to population synthesis for agent-based transportation modeling.
This innovative research project aims to develop more realistic synthetic populations for transportation modeling, going beyond traditional approaches to better represent real-world demographics and behaviors. The improved methodology is expected to significantly enhance the reliability of transportation simulations.
The collaboration develops valuable tools for urban planning and policy decisions while strengthening institutional ties between TUM and DTU. Research outcomes will be shared through joint publications in academic journals and presentations at international conferences.
