The project Safe Future Inland Transport Systems (SafeFITS) aims to facilitate knowledge-based transport policy decision-making related to reducing road traffic injuries.

The SafeFITS tool, designed and developed by Prof. C. Antoniou and M. Chaniotakis for the United Nations Economic Committee for Europe, based on a road safety model developed by Prof. G. Yannis (NTUA) provides a platform for the evaluation of the impact that interventions have to safety:
