People moving actively in the city is one of the most missing parts of our current urban areas. Looking into what Active Mobility means and why it is important for our future cities is the main purpose of this course. The Active Mobility course is designed to create a common platform for interdisciplinary learning among students coming from backgrounds that play a role in shaping the streets. Students from Traffic Engineering, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Architecture, Urban Planning and Urban Design are the core target groups to reach the required heterogeneity in the classes that help broaden their understanding of a good future street design. In this regard, the primary goal of the course is “to help students understand the importance of planning for active mobility within the city”. This will help them develop a broader perspective when thinking about designing for Active mobility in the city.
