Standardised interface for the deep integration of ride-sharing services in public transport - Mitanand

Problem definition

In the context of changing mobility needs, increasing sustainability requirements and demands for better routing, information and bookability of mobility offers, a networking of rideshare offers with public transport and other mobility offers is of utmost relevance. Carpooling portals currently focus mainly on long-distance travel or exclusively employee mobility. For commuter, everyday and leisure mobility in a local or regional context, no sustainable successful solution is known in Germany to date that is integrated into the public transport system.

Project goal

The aim is to establish a standardised and transferable link between public transport and ride-sharing providers based on the GTFS interface commonly used in public transport. The interface will be integrated in the Munich transport and tariff network within an intermodal routing.

Implementation

Survey of the technical and procedural current status of the ride-sharing providers (goFLUX Mobility GmbH and ride2Go GmbH) and the transport association (MVV GmbH). Subsequent definition of the data to be shared and the development of a common data format based on the GTFS interface. Acceptance of the development through software and user tests. This is followed by the integration and display of the standardised data in the MVV app. Finally, both the use and the technical solution are evaluated.
