Academic Education Initiative for E-Mobility Bayern – Sachsen

Project description and activities of the chair

The main goal of the initiative is development of courses on e-mobility for full-time and part-time study programs as well as other educational activities like summer schools. In this context, an interdisciplinary consortium of universities produce course materials in order to be able to answer the new questions raised by e-mobility.  Developed courses will be available for all national educational institutions to be used for formation of new study programs.

Within the scope of the project, the task of the Chair of Traffic Engineering and Control (together with Chair of Urban Structure and Transport Planning) is to create a Core-Course on mobility concepts with electric vehicles. The course “Transport Planning and Traffic Engineering Concepts for E-Mobility” is offered for master programs of Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering and Transportation Systems. The aim is that students can understand e-mobility as a mobility concept with all components (policy, planning, management, vehicles, infrastructure and network) and all application areas (private and public transport) in transport planning and engineering.
