Prof. Jaensch researches and develops powertrains for future, sustainable mobility. His research interests comprise internal combustion engines operated with synthetic fuels, electric drivetrains and powertrains using hydrogen as energy carrier. The focus is on vehicle applications and the holistic combination of simulation, experiment, and prototype development.

Prof. Jaensch studied Mechanical Engineering at TU Braunschweig and received a PhD in Mechatronics from Imperial College London. The following seven years he worked as co-founder and head of engineering at EVO Electric, an electric machine start-up. In parallel, he studied towards a MBA in technology and innovation at Imperial College Business School. 2013, he returned to Germany, to establish, grow and lead the electric drivetrain department at Porsche Engineering. Since 2021 Prof. Jaensch is at TUM.
