Roadshow "Autonomous Driving" at TUM

Autonomous vehicles – whether for personal transport or freight delivery – could offer a potentially enormous disruption to life, business and society. But there are still a lot of open questions to solve, risky challenges to tackle and difficult decisions to be made.

In the last week we hosted selected partners from industry, politics and press because of our „Autonomous Driving“ roadshow. We showed what research the Technische Universität München has to offer in the fields of perception, planning & control, HMI, safety and homologation and teleported driving. To sum it up, these are to most important facts about how we are involved in the field of autonomous driving (AD):

  • 6 AD related faculties
  • About 25 AD related professors
  • Nearly 70 AD related Phd students
  • 100 AD related publications every year
  • Over 500 master students with AD knowledge finishing every year
  • About 20 Mio. € invest for research

Although autonomous driving is now a big topic in series development, there are still tons of open research questions. To solve these, we are aiming for new and bigger research projects with our partners.
