Martin J. Castellanos Gonzalez
Martin Castellanos is a Research Associate and PhD Candidate at the Technical University of Munich (TUM). Since March 2026, he has been working on the AgiMo Project, the DFG-funded Collaborative Research Centre (CRC), more specifically on Project A2, “New methods for investigating stated behaviour and preferences for extreme carbon reduction strategies” under the supervision of Dr Mohamed Abouelela. His research at TUM focuses on discrete choice modelling and travel behaviour using context-aware stated-preference data, with an emphasis on hybrid and latent-class models and on statistical analysis of large-scale travel data, integrating transportation research and innovation economics, to evaluate the effectiveness of policies for carbon reduction. Martin holds a bachelor’s in civil engineering from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia (UNAL) and a Master of Science in Transportation Systems from TUM. In the past, he has worked, among others, in strategic mobility planning at the Secretariat of Mobility in Bogotá and in transportation planning in the private sector.
