Increase in road sensor frequency to improve traffic control

Bavaria is planning a further improvement of traffic information and traffic management as well as an increase in traffic safety on motorways. Within this scope, a system for incident detection and travel time measurement should be established throughout Bavaria.

An essential precondition for an optimal effect of this system is an adequate, reliable und fast detection of traffic flow, especially in disrupted states and in cases of congestions.

Therefore, the most economical combination of detection and traffic analysis techniques should be identified by conducting a pilot study and a field test.
