Innovative Assessment Methods for Sustainable Transportation Investments

General description:

The project Innovative Assessment Methods for Sustainable Transportation Investments (BeneVit) is one of 14 sub-projects in the first implementation phase (2021-2024) of MCube - Munich Cluster for the Future of Mobility in Metropolitan Regions. BeneVit deals with the strategic development of evaluation methods in transport such as the “Standardized Assessment” or the assessment procedure of the German Transport Infrastructure Plan as a macroeconomic cost-benefit analysis.

Objectives:

  • Development of innovative approaches for the evaluation of transport projects in public transport, taking into account the MCube target dimensions of time, space and air.
  • Among other things, long-term effects on settlement structure and the quality of space (e.g. sojourn quality), the positive effects of network extensions and additional lines in large cities (e.g. resilience), further economic aspects (e.g. effects on the housing market, labor market, economic structure and productivity) as well as aspects of sustainable development will be considered.
  • Enabling comparison between projects for different modes of transport and a good applicability in order to improve the selection and realization of beneficial projects accordingly.
