A key milestone of the exchange was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between MCube – Munich Cluster for the Future of Mobility in Metropolitan Regions and the Mobilizing Justice Partnership. The agreement formalizes a shared commitment to advancing international collaboration in accessibility research and knowledge exchange.

The exchange i Munich featured presentations from researchers at both institutions, addressing a range of pressing topics in transport and mobility. Discussions included developments in digital mobility twins, transport poverty, accessibility measurement, and emerging approaches to sufficiency-oriented mobility planning. The exchange provided a valuable platform for sharing research findings, methodologies, and perspectives from different national and institutional contexts.

To complement the academic programme, participants explored examples of mobility innovation and active travel infrastructure in Munich. Activities included a guided visit to the Deutsches Museum Transport Center and a cycling tour showcasing the city’s cycling network and mobility initiatives. These activities provided opportunities to connect research concepts with practical applications in urban mobility planning.

The exchange highlighted the importance of international partnerships in addressing complex mobility challenges and demonstrated the value of collaboration between researchers, institutions, and mobility stakeholders across countries.

The participating organizations look forward to continuing and expanding the Canadian–German collaboration through future joint research activities, knowledge exchange, and academic cooperation.
