The Interreg Alpine Space project ASTUS aims to help local authorities to identify and implement long term solutions in both mobility and spatial planning to reduce the CO2 impacts linked to daily trips in the Alps. The Chair of Urban Structure and Transport Planning is leading the activity on decision-making tools on low carbon scenarios in cooperation with MVV as well as 12 European partners from research and practice.

Project Output

  • Territorial typology of the Alpine Space
  • Toolset of “CO2 minimizers” estimating CO2 effects and costs of potential mobility and spatial planning solutions
  • Transnational methodology for building low CO2 scenarios
  • Local action plans
  • Transnational recommendations for a successful reduction of CO2 emissions in the Alps
