Description

The lecture intends to give a vision of the near and longterm future of selected automotive areas from the viewpoint of the automotive industry. Future scenarios will be derived based on technical background, actual facts and figures: • Global future car and traffic scenarios taking into account cultural, regional, social and demographic factors • Development trends in car electronics • Trends in design, body structure and moduls as well as the use of virtual methods in development and production • Future developments in the area of power train and wheels - discussion about the CO2 challenge • Improvement of driving safety through technologies such as Dynamic Drive, X-by-Wire, AFS etc • Safety and accident prevention: driver assist and car-to-car communication • Environmental effects of producing, using and recycling of cars, current improvements and future optimizations • Current topic: an automotive topic from the current public discussion will be selected

Teaching and learning methods

The lecture is planned as a face-to-face event for winter semester 23/24. All documents of the lecture can be found in the Moodle course. 09.02.2024 is the last time the exam will be offered
