Partly-automated driving assistance systems are a very important milestone in order to realise automatic driving. Thus, active regulating systems are more and more responsible for the longitudinal and lateral control of the vehicle and are able to improve safety, driving comfort and efficiency. Apart from technical aspects factors regarding law and acceptance also play an important role concerning the development of fully automated driving. Both the guarantee of functional safety and aspects of liability are decisive for realising fully automated driving in the daily road traffic.
